I grew up going to flea markets in Georgia as this is my home state.

The flea markets in Georgia offer a great mix of cheap, new items and vintage antiques.

I remember seeing large Persian rugs, Christmas ornaments in cases, and even puppies for sale at the northeast Georgia flea markets.

Let me share with you some of the best-kept gold in flea market territory.

No, these are not all located in Dahlonega, where the real gold is actually mined, but in other cities in the state.

The 10 Best Flea Markets in Georgia 

Pendergrass Flea Market in Pendergrass, Georgia

One of the first flea markets I ever visited in my youth was Pendergrass Flea Market.

Now also known as La Vaquita Flea Market in Spanish, the Pendergrass Flea Market is located at 5641 US 129 North in Pendergrass.

Pendergrass, which has a population of 640, is a small, rural town an hour north of Atlanta, and is only 10 minutes west of Jefferson, which has 12,032 people.

The Pendergrass Flea Market, however, sees more than 15,000 visitors on a typical weekend.

Featuring two and a half miles of storefronts, there are plenty of shops to choose from at this flea market.

You can also find great food at the Pendergrass Flea Market (PFM) Food Court.

This is a mainly Mexican and Latino food court, but burgers and hot dogs will also be on the menus.

J&J Flea Market in Athens, Georgia

As a child growing up in Georgia, we visited the bigger flea markets a lot, especially on Sunday afternoons.

It was always a bustling place and I loved the bargains for strange things like little kids’ toys or live chickens.

The J&J Flea Market is Georgia’s biggest flea market and is convenient to Athens, Georgia, where the University of Georgia is located.

The flea market covers 150 acres and gets great wares from the local collegiate and university crowd.

There are over 1,200 vendors at this flea market, but they do not sell food and drinks like they do at Pendergrass.

However, you can buy fresh produce at the Farmer’s Market, which is part of the J&J Flea Market.

So consider this a place for part of your grocery haul, too.

Keller’s Flea Market

If you are in Savannah, in the coastal region of Georgia, you can find the Keller’s Flea Market to suit your fanciful shopping needs.

No relation to Helen Keller to my knowledge!

The flea market has been around for nearly 40 years and has more than 400 vendors in six different concession stands.

This is one of the fancier of the bigger flea markets in the state, one indicator being the free wifi available to vendors.

Keller’s has two restaurants called Cane Kitchen and Candyland Creamery where fair foods like hot dogs and funnel cakes are sold.

There is also the best-kept secret for families with young children, the Keller’s Country Carnival.

This is a Tilt-A-Whirl and Sea Serpent Kiddie Coaster plus other fun carnival-style rides that are fairly affordable. 

Lakewood Antiques Market in Cumming, Georgia

Located in Cumming, Georgia, the Lakewood Antiques Market is also known as the Lakewood 400 Antiques Market and is more than a flea market.

But you can consider one and the same, as you find the same types of objects.

The salvaged farmhouse decor is very popular, along with China sets and vintage collectibles.

There are over 75,000 square feet of floor room in the Lakewood Antiques Market.

Here are 500 antique dealers waiting to take your money.

The antique market is open only once a month on the third weekend.

This might not be the full-scale flea market you are expecting thanks to more vintage and antique items.

However, there is a lot of crossover with new items sold at the Lakewood Antiques Market.

Scott Antique Markets in Atlanta, Georgia

The Scott Antique Markets located on Jonesboro Road in Atlanta, Georgia are some of the most popular antique-style flea markets in the Southeast.

It is currently the World’s Largest Monthly Indoor Antique Show, according to its website.

There is also a SAM location in Columbus, Ohio for diehard fans.

Started two decades ago by Don Scott, the Georgia location was his first store.

It is located in the Atlanta Expo Centers and showcases the production set for the filming of television shows like “Anton’s Antique Toy and Train Show.”

You can even buy tickets at the gate for admission to one of these shows.

To get into the Scott Antique Markets for a TV show or to shop is only $5 admission and parking is free.

If you want to be on the show with an item you have on hand, or that you find at the market, you may be able to do so with a ticket to be in the live audience.

Smiley’s Flea Market in Macon, Georgia

In Macon, Georgia there is Smiley’s Flea Market, which bills itself as the biggest flea market in the state.

Established in 1984, Smiley’s was started by Ben Campen, Sr. who originally had the Fletcher, NC location and then expanded to Macon, GA.

At this flea market they, too, have rides, including Smiley’s Carousel and Bumper Cars.

You can also visit a secondary location of Smileys in Fletcher, North Carolina.

Shop from more than 1,000 vendors at Smiley’s and buy anything from bulldozers to BBQ ribs.

And like Pendergrass, Smiley’s sees about 15,000 people every weekend, so prepare for a crowd.

They offer ample food options with eight different restaurants and food stalls.

Make sure to buy something with a Smiley face on it to symbolize the coolness of this flea market brand!

West Georgia Flea Market in Carrollton, Georgia

At the West Georgia Flea Market located in Carrollton, GA, there are a lot of specialties.

You can find one-of-a-kind Alabama teams’ sporting memorabilia thanks to the location near the Georgia-Alabama line.

They also see candles, animals, wood furniture, and dishes, as well as antiques, custom signage, and yard tools.

There is a farmers market where they sell fresh produce at the West Georgia Flea Market, as well as prepared foods and coffee beverages.

Expect to spend hours at this flea market, and bring extra bags along to take home the goods.

The West Georgia Flea Market is off of Highway 27 North and convenient to the southern Atlanta traffic.

As an added bonus, if you are someone who loves going to all locations of a brand or business, there is a new location that is opening in Dallas, North Carolina in 2022, according to their website.

You can be one of the first shoppers at this location of a Georgia flea market if you are in the Carolinas.

Peachtree Peddlers Flea Market and Antique Mall in McDonough, Georgia

Peachtree City in Atlanta is a popular metro location that is actually 30 miles straight southeast of the Peachtree Peddlers Flea Market. 

The Peachtree Peddlers Flea Market and Antique Mall are located in south Atlanta in the suburban city of McDonough.

With more than 25 acres of space dedicated to the flea market, there are thousands of vendors each weekend.

The stalls are both indoors and outdoors, and you can shop at the Antique Mall or the Flea Market separately if desired.

The Flea Market at Peachtree Peddlers is open Saturdays and Sundays, while the Antique Mall is open six days a week and closed on Wednesdays.

While you will not necessarily find peaches for sale here, they do sell gourmet foods.

These may include preserved peaches and salsas from the state’s signature pit fruit.

I-75 Flea Market in Rossville, Georgia

Finally, the I-75 Flea Market is a huge indoor marketplace underneath a rooftop with some outdoor vendors as well.

This is a centralized flea market in Rossville, strategically convenient for shoppers in Atlanta, as well as Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee.

As the I-75 Flea Market borders the Georgia-Tennessee line, you see plenty of vendors from out of state.

This adds to the amount of shopper traffic, too, but it also varies the types of items you can expect to find.

For instance, consider there to be more Tennessee orange-colored sports apparel here compared to other flea markets in Georgia.

Other great goods available for sale at the I075 Flea Market in Rossville are Latino foods and items from Mexico.
