More often than not, this merchandise is second-hand, up-cycled, and repurposed.

You would think that flea markets are a popular attraction, especially in this state.

But, to be honest, we had to dig to find the most appropriate flea markets that would appeal to the public. 

What we did find was a few good flea markets, scattered around the state of Louisiana.

These were selected based on several factors ranging from their size, the merchandise they sell, their popularity, and the amount of foot traffic they receive. 

1. The Funky Flea

The Funky Flea is named a flea market but is in actual fact more of a single store.

The reason this flea has made it onto the list is due to the sheer variety of antiques, collectibles, and other interesting artifacts that can be found at this location. 

There’s a constant influx of new merchandise, so shoppers are always in for a treat when visiting the market.

The flea is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.

One of the main attractions of the flea is the mid-century furniture.

If you are into antiques, you should definitely give this flea a visit. 

Another great attraction is the contemporary and vintage art collection at the flea.

In addition to the great merchandise, the flea often hosts many events throughout the year, including the Annual Sunset Herb Festival. 

Entry is free and there is plenty of parking around the store. 

2. River Road Flea Market

River Road Flea Market is situated in Jefferson, Louisiana.

This is an indoor flea market that operates year-round.

The market is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, come rain or shine.

The market features 20 shops situated on 4,000 square feet of selling space.

What you will find at this flea is a wide range of antiques and collectibles at very reasonable prices.

Other items you may find at this flea market include Mexican imports such as outdoor planters, as well as other yard items including trellises, benches, topiaries, garden art, and much more.

It is best to come prepared.

This market only accepts cash.

There is an ATM on-site if you run out of cash and would like to draw more.

And, if you would like to sell some items, you could also bring them to the market, as they frequently purchase new merchandise from vendors as well. 

3. Greenwood Flea Market

Greenwood Flea Market is located just off I-20 in Greenwood, Louisiana. 

The market is year-round every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm.

The market operates 150 indoor booths in a climate-controlled space and approximately 30 outdoor booths.

Vendors are ready to bargain with hungry bargain hunters.

Each booth is operated by an independent vendor offering great selections of new and used merchandise.

Do not be shy to negotiate better deals with the vendors at this flea.

You never know how much you are able to drop the price unless you try.

The market also features a full-service grill that prepares breakfast and lunch for hungry shoppers. 

The family-friendly venue offers free entry to all shoppers as well as free parking outside.

4. Denham Springs Antique Village

Denham Springs Antique Village is situated on N. Range Avenue in Denham Springs.

This is in fact not an actual flea market but instead a cluster of 25 independent antique and specialty stores. 

The various stores have different operating hours but all seem to open around 9 am or 10 am and close around 5 pm.

In addition, the stores have different days on which they operate.

It may be best to view the website to confirm which stores are open at which hours and on which days. 

Most of the store’s trade is in all types of antiques, including furniture, ornaments, and other household goods, as well as collectibles, and vintage clothing.

If there is an antique item you are looking for you may just find it here.

This is one of the most unique shopping experiences in all of Louisiana. 

5. Westbank Flea Market

Westbank Flea Market is located in Harvey, Louisiana.

The market is open on weekends, including Saturday and Sunday, from 9 am to 5 pm. 

If you are in the mood to go thrift shopping, this is the market for you.

There are several reasons why this open-air market is so unique and so popular.

Firstly, there are no booths or tents, vendors sell their merchandise from old cargo trailer materials that create covered booths outside.

You will find the traditional flea market items such as clothing, vintage, and antique items, watches, bags, jewelry, and much more.

There are several food stands that sell freshly made meals and you can even get some fresh Honduran cuisine at this market.

Furthermore, you will find vegan, vegetarian, and even keto meals at this market. Some other types of cuisine include southern-style cooking and Haitian cooking. 

In addition to the unique set-up and interesting food items are the shows and entertainment hosted by this flea throughout the season.

There is no entry fee and sufficient parking around the venue for shoppers to park their vehicles and spend the day at the market.

6. Simmons Highway 21 Flea Market

Simmons Highway 21 Flea Market is located in Bogalusa, Louisiana. 

This year-round indoor flea market operates Wednesday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.

This market is well known for vintage dishes such as classic Corelle dinnerware sets which are no longer in circulation.

If that is what you are looking for, then head on over to this flea as that is exactly what you will find here. 

Other than their vintage dinnerware collections, you will find the typical flea market items at this venue.

There are over 150 vendors at this venue selling anything and everything your imagination can conjure up in terms of antiques and collectibles.

For the comfort of their shoppers, the market offers a temperature-controlled venue that is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. 

The venue has clean restrooms on-site and there is ample parking for shoppers around the facility.

There is always new merchandise coming into the store.

The friendly staff is ready to help you find what you are looking for and if they do not have it in-store, chances are they may have it in their storage facility.

7. Spotted Cat Antiques

The Spotted Cat Antiques is located in Opelousas, Louisiana.

This indoor climate-controlled flea market is spread over 30,000 sq. ft of selling space.

It is conveniently located off of I-49.

This flea boasts over a hundred different vendors each selling unique and interesting antiques and there are also specialty booths as well as an Architectural Warehouse. 

Shoppers have several choices to make a purchase, either in-store, online, and yes, even over the phone.

The more great news is that this flea accepts cash, credit cards, and even checks.

So, even if you do forget your cash at home, you can always pay with your credit card or cheque.

One of the key points that this market puts emphasis on is the fact that old is more often than not better than new.

That motto actually applies to items such as vintage or antique pieces.

They believe that it is money well spent and try to encourage their shoppers to view it the same way. 

Shoppers are entertained with music as they stroll down the isles in search of treasure.

8. CJ’s Antiques and Collectibles 

CJ’s Antiques and Collectibles is located in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. 

This indoor market is an indoor flea that is open seven days a week throughout the year.

Their operating hours are Monday through Sunday, from 9 am to 6 pm.

Stepping into this store is similar to stepping back in time.

You will be transported to the past with the variety of vintage and antique items that can be found here.

Talk about a treasure trove.

This is a family-owned and operated market that is spread out over 15,000 square feet of floor space. 

Shoppers can enter the market free of charge and there is plenty of parking located just outside the store.

Whether you come to browse the isles or simply sip on a delicious cup of coffee while your loved ones stroll down the isles, you are sure to have a good time at this flea.

If bargain hunting is your thing, then you will be in for a big surprise as this store has thousands of items to view and purchase.

And, the merchandise is constantly moving, so there is always something new in the store.

9. Angie Flea Market

Angie Flea Market is situated along Highway 21 in Angie, Louisiana on a very large lot.

You may notice that the building seems somewhat small from a distance away, but as soon as you enter the building you will also notice that it is much larger than initially anticipated.

The market is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. 

This market features several vendors selling new and used merchandise, including furniture, antiques, collectibles, as well as household appliances.

Entry is free and there is a sufficient amount of parking available close to the venue that is also free. 

10. Deep South Flea Market

The Deep South Flea Market is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 

The market operates Friday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm every week throughout the year.

There are a host of vendors at this market selling anything from wigs, hair care products, and jewelry, to antiques, furniture, decals, and power tools.

This flea market has a very traditional style about it and the vendors are helpful and friendly. 

Admission is free and there is an entire parking lot that is free of charge where shoppers can park their vehicles while they browse through the isles in search of a bargain or treasure. 

You may want to come prepared for this flea because, as of the date of writing this article, there were no food stalls at this market.

Pack in some snacks and water or something to hydrate yourself while shopping.

In addition, ensure that you have cash on you, as not all the vendors accept checks or credit cards.
