Melbourne has terrible weather and the night life is rubbish. Lived here most of my life. People here are very conservative and tend to stare if you look a bit different. Food is excellent. But very expensive. Markets here are good.

I disagree. The night life in Melbourne is great. It’s just not all packed together in one strip. Rather, there are pockets of clubs, wine bars and restaurants dotted across the city. Plenty of open late galleries too. After 10 years I am still discovering good venues regularly.
